Unfortunately I'm not using the latest version of VoiceQ yet so some of these suggestions might not be applicable but, if not all, most will be.

Shortcuts/Workflow Suggestions For VoiceQ:

• [ ] Duplicate/Clone Lines in timeline/script (!)
• [ ] Allow arrow keys to move cursor word-for-word in “Split Line” pop-up box
• [ ] Increase scale for custom “Quick Zoom” buttons


- [ ] Colour different script lines (clips/blocks) in timeline (OR give them an icon like different colour stars) - so that I can see which lines might be extra and come back to them later. It’s not efficient enough to just colour in the Script Window.
- [ ] Add “window configurations” (so that I don’t have to keep adjusting windows every time I open a new project)
- [ ] Re-order timeline characters (matches with “list box” in script window - even when characters are filtered) - this apparently was in previous versions of VQWriter.
- [ ] Cmd, Shift, “+/-“ (on keyboard) - moves playback cursor finer increments
- [ ] Cmd, Shift, left/right arrow keys - nudges line finer increments
- [ ] Shortcut to deselect all lines/selections (eg. Cmd+Shift+D)
- [ ] Autosave options (Every 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20m) - with a max backup history of 300…please :D
- [ ] “Alt/Option” modifier key - allows You to resize blocks in timeline from the left
- [ ] Double-right-clicking in one of timeline lanes, adds a new line for that lane (Optional setting in the timeline preferences)
- [ ] [Right-clicking on line in Timeline/Script] Keyboard “I” Spots line in point, “O” Spots line out point (This one will be a huge benefit to workflow/time)
- [ ] Right-Click “D/del” deletes line
- [ ] Duplicate/Clone Lines in timeline/script

- [ ] Don’t automatically “wrap line” when new scene is created (so that we still see it coming on the Rhythmoband)
- [ ] Add an “Invert Colour” button in the Rhythmoband Settings on the Media Playback Window

- [ ] Add “Toggle Speech Regions” switch for both the “Rhythmoband” and [Media Playback Window] “Waveform” independently at the bottom right of “Timeline Window” (with shortcuts) — please :D
- [ ] Spot In/Out multiple-lines at once (using the beginning of the first selected line, or the end of the line selected last)
- [ ] Option to “pin” characters on the Rhythmoband (so that they don’t move according to the amount of speakers)
- [ ] Option in Project preferences to customize the trigger/playhead colour in Timeline Window
- [ ] Preference to change playback cursor width
- [ ] Option to change background colour of Timeline Window, Script Window and Character Window independently
- [ ] When adding new lines, fill all translations with typed text (only when adding new line)
- [ ] Add preference to “add new line for character when double-right-clicking in that character lane”
- [ ] Highlight “character names” font in blue when line is being spoken (In the the Script Window)
- [ ] Add mute button on the Media Track in Timeline Window (don’t forget the volume fader too - it takes too long to go into preferences and change this)
- [ ] Auto-Scroll settings starts scrolling Timeline Window after passing (+/-)50-60% of the Timeline View (not only when reaching the end of the Timeline View)
- [ ] Scrolling over lists/drop-down menus/right-click menus will cycle through options
- [ ] [In the Global Prefernces] - Add a database of custom key words that will fill in what I’m typing (eg. Ad = Adlib, Mis = Missing Line, M = Mm…, etc.), 10-15 custom keywords should be more than enough
- [ ] Change character from individual lines’ right-click menu in Timeline Window
- [ ] When typing in lines [in Script Window] the allow Shift+arrow-keys to jump to/edit the line left/above/below/right of the currently edited line (instead of needing to press Enter and then left-clicking on the next line we want to edit)
- [ ] Preference to change waveform colour in Media Playback Window [these settings can also pop-up when clicking on the waveform in the Media Playback Window — same as the pop-up for Rhythmoband
- [ ] Add “Clone Character/s” Option
- [ ] Integrate older versions into newer versions (allow latest version of VQ Writer to open older project files)

• [ ] Stop jumping out of view in the Timeline Window every time I “add new line”, “add reaction”, “delete line”, “undo last action”, “spot in pint” etc.
• [ ] When I filter characters, sometimes the right-click menu edits lines for the wrong character lane
• [ ] Give us Media Track “width options” (via right-click menu) - sometimes it’s too small/big
• [ ] Don’t jump view when deleting lines
• [ ] Stop jumping view whenever I undo something
• [ ] Alt+Shift+Drag shortcut doesn’t work (change it to shortcut suggestion above)
• [ ] After I “merge lines” then next 2 lines get selected
• [ ] Rhythmoband settings (when you left-click on the rhythmoband) doesn’t let you change any of the “Font” settings (colour, type etc.) - This seems to also be the case in the Project Preferences window
• [ ] Scrolling over Timeline Window scroll-bar doesn’t scroll
• [ ] When Mac sleeps, then the VQ sound output goes back to default speakers [instead of the headphones or selected soundcard, if chosen in Mac preferences]
• [ ] When I spot lines then character-lanes resize to default
• [ ] After re-aligning/splitting lines then click moves last selected line (even if I’m not clicking on that line) in timeline
• [ ] When I edit line and click on open space in Timeline, then playback jumps to beginning
• [ ] Sometimes if I Cmd+click on an already selected line, then playback jumps to beginning
• [ ] I can’t do general changes without the playback cursor jumping to the beginning
• [ ] When I merge lines, then multiple lines nearby get selected automatically
• [ ] Sometimes when I try to move the Playhead after editing a line, then the mouse grabs that line and/or the Character Lane width line even if the mouse isn’t over the line or the width adjustment line
• [ ] I can’t edit character names outside the filter
• [ ] Sometimes when I filter characters, then right-click—>add line option in Timeline Window adds a line for the wrong character
• [ ] When a line is added, the Playback cursor jumps to the beginning of Timeline Window (it should stay where the line has been added)
• [ ] When a line is added, the Timeline Window jumps vertically [the character lane with added line jumps to top of Timeline window] — (it should stay where the line has been added)
• [ ] Colour selection of character needs to be clicked, exited and clicked again before changes are made
